Unearthing Serpent’s Knot: History, Espionage, and the Power of Myth

I am so excited to finally announce that my latest story, a wild, fast-paced novelette called Serpent’s Knot, is finished and ready for you to read!

This is one of those passion projects that’s been brewing for a while, mixing some of my favorite things: lost civilizations, tense Cold War spy games, and the chilling idea that ancient myths might be more than just stories. What if they were warnings? And what if a forgotten secret could not only shift the balance of global power but tear reality apart at the seams?

So, What's 'Serpent's Knot' All About?

It all kicks off in 1572, during the fiery last days of the Inca Empire. A lone keeper flees into the jungle, clutching a sacred artifact—a knotted cord called Amaru-khipu, but this one is woven with strange, shimmering alien fibers.

Flash forward to 1958. We meet the brilliant (and perpetually in trouble) archaeologist Abner Winslow, who stumbles upon a fragment of this same relic in a chaotic Cairo bazaar. That single discovery lights a fuse, launching a desperate, globe-trotting race. Abner finds himself hunted by the whip-smart Soviet agent Dr. Lena Petrova and a terrifying group of ex-Nazi fanatics. Both want the artifact, believing it’s the key to unlocking a power source older than mankind—a weapon that could reshape the world.

The chase will drag you from clandestine meetings in Moscow to cutting-edge labs at Georgetown University, and finally to a deadly showdown on a haunted, forgotten plateau in the Peruvian Andes. It’s a relentless adventure blending history, espionage, and a touch of cosmic horror.

Why I Wrote Serpent's Knot

I've always been fascinated by the places where history and myth collide. I love thinking about how legends might be the distorted echoes of real, terrifying events. When you throw the paranoia and high-stakes games of the 1950s Cold War into that mix, you get a recipe for chaos.

Serpent’s Knot was my chance to explore what happens when obsession, rivalry, and ancient power all crash into each other. It’s a story about the dangers of digging too deep into secrets that were buried for a reason.

Is This Novelette for You?

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys:

  • The globe-trotting, treasure-hunting thrills of Indiana Jones.
  • The tense, shadowy spy craft of John le Carré.
  • The unsettling, "we-shouldn't-have-touched-that" awe of H.P. Lovecraft.

…then I can confidently say Serpent’s Knot was written for you.
